Anthracite

It was a great party, right up to the moment when the killer walked in the door and put a bullet into the guest of honor’s head. Donna Santorello and Ray Pizulski are also on the scene, and become witnesses when the fireworks begin, courtesy of hired killer – and stone psychopath – Floyd Cowley.

So begins Anthracite, a crime drama with an eccentric edge by David Fulmer, author of the critically-acclaimed and award-winning Storyville series.

Fifteen years earlier, Donna and Ray took different paths to escape Anthracite, a dying Pennsylvania coal town. Both of them ended up in Philadelphia, Donna as a high-dollar call girl and Ray as a low-rent car thief.

Following the violence, they escape into the city night with Floyd in pursuit. Ray heads to Anthracite, where he hopes to get lost. Donna’s own plans to leave fail comically and with little money and no options, she follows him there.

And so they’re back in the place where Donna was known as the town slut and Ray the town mutt, meeting the ghosts they left behind, even as Floyd draws closer with two more victims in his sights.
