Fiction Shop FAQs What skill level is required for Fiction Shop? Anyone with basic language abilities and will benefit. We've had both beginners and veterans in Fiction Shop. What materials will be required? Just pen and paper. Unless you can't do without it, give your laptop a vacation. Does Fiction Shop benefit non-fiction writers? Fiction Shop works for all kinds of writers. The elements of the course - including creating settings, revealing characters, working with dialogue and the narrative arc - are extremely important in writing non-fiction books and memoirs, too. It's simple: the best non-fiction and memoir writers are great storytellers, too. Does Fiction Shop benefit both novelist and short story writers? As noted above the narrative elements apply to storytelling in any format. We've had playwrights and screenwriters who have benefited from the workshop. Edibles We'll have coffee and donuts waiting.
